Deciding on what I want with a new rig. For some stupid reason I thought reading this thread would help me make up my mind. What the fuck was I thinking? Lol

I find the gator tail goes threw way more stuff than Prodrive. I find the Prodrive would always want to blow the mud out when stuck, the gatortail pulls threw it , instant reverse is nice and it pulls hard . Yea you have fpr with a Prodrive but I never had problems with the gatortail reverse. And gator tail turns sharp makes for ease frogging. But its your money your can buy what you like, just my 2 cents

It's all in what you need out of motor . Either Prodrive or gatortail if you want reverse . Here something to think about .why by a mud motor that is made in the middle of a desert? I would stick with Prodrive or gatortail

Alright....I know everybody still likes to make fun of my reverse abilities (where's DDM?)...But, since the introduction of the suicide knob, they have improved...and I went ahead and edited out all the hydraulics for those that are sensitive to it.

I've owned them both, there is no comparison in thick grass or being in a tight spot, but the GTR reverse is very convenient to have, and from what I have seen, is a must have in the thick mud.

I will agree,,a GTR looks similar to a mud boat with a velvet drive in the mud. However in the grass....I dont think there is no comparison. PD hands down...

Yeah...I could sink my old mudboat with the velvet drive...even with the fantail! It did pull that rear end down!

Too many trudges back to the camp across the marsh when the dang thing broke down....which seemed frequent. I certainly don't miss that aspect of the velvet drive. Maybe they improved some...but they were very sensitive to RPMs.
