Frog legs
Got a quick question went froging caught a good bit but we were at my buddy's house when we cleaned them and I got like 50 les in a bag and I forgot them at his house so he put them in the freezer I'm never gonna eat 50 frog legs at a time was wondering if it was ok to defrost and then refreeze again In smaller quantity

Re: Frog legs
They will be fine, won't be as good as a one time freeze but they won't kill ya. Best thing to do is just have some buddies buy beer and Cook frogs.

Re: Frog legs
You can and it will be safe as long as you keep them at an acceptable temp. Make sure to thaw in cold water. A very important step is to keep them below 70 degrees during thaw process. Thawing in warm water will cause unsafe conditions. The safe zone is below 40 stored and above 165 cooked with frogs. The critical zone is above 70 degrees and below 140. You need to stay away from that. If you do get between those temps you have two hours to get them below 70 degrees. If you do so the food will be considered safe. The rule of thumb is food will last a total of seven days from kill date in a thawed state.
