Re: Septic tanks Roughly same experience here. Got a quote a year ago, with sprinkler heads (just the water after the system treats it) instead of discharge pipe was going to add a bit to the cost, but it wasnt too much. Total was 2400 with aerator (included a pump, line and heads for the sprinklers) Required where I live, though.

Make sure you maintain it...its kinda out of sight out of mind. But when its not working,,,it cost a shit load of money.
I recently discovered my pump wasn't pumping. I would go put my hand on it about every month or so,,,it was running...but wasn't pumping. Now my drain field is plugged up...
The pump was 400 dollars locally and about 250 online. It was the weekend so I took it apart and found the pump itself was fine. There were two small hoses and grommets that were shot causing it not to pump any more.
Fyi,,make sure you get it pumped about every 3-5yrs.
