Post custom mud boats
hey guys I'm looking for some recommendations here.... I've owned several mud rigs. some good and some bad. always used... I'm to the point where i know what i like and don't and I'm ready to drop the cash to get the right boat for me. So what I'm after is some ideas on where to go. I don't want to pay thru the nose for a name. I want a solid well built boat, simple and clean, at a fair price. I'm in no hurry. I'm active duty military. I'm on deployment now and i leave on another one after the first of the year. I plan to place the order some time this summer/fall probably in between my deployments. It wont even see water for another year so i can get in line to wait for the right boat.

So the question is who builds the best boats out there at the best price??

I'm looking at 17X48 probably.... .125 gauge, open floor plan, huntdeck... I plan to put a 35MB or Prodrive on it most likely.

If you have that much time call Jay Dore at instagator ..... or pm him instagator911..... If you are looking for a performance hull that's who I would go with...... Pete willit at wc customs builds a mighty fine boat too.

Willett (WC Custom Boats) build a hell of a boat. I've had a few custom boats and a few stock boats. Willett by far has built me the best boat. What I mean by that is that the actual structure of the boat is strong as hell. Anyone can talk to a custom boat builder and get all of the "bells and whistles" added to a custom hull. That's what buying a custom hull is all about. But Willett goes above and beyond not only to add those things, but also make sure you have a hull that will last a lifetime. Strongest hull I've ever owned by far!

Thanks for your service hunt-chessies. I will say my prodigy is a very well built boat and would but another. Best bet research and talk to the builders to get an idea what price you're looking at. Again thanks for your service, and good luck.

Where will you be when you're home? Take a ride in some of the options if you can. See what you think in person.
