When I was at Gator-Tail in May, Kyle told me that every motor from then on will have new handle and LU, unless you specifically requested it before then.

Yea that's me in the pic, bubba put us on Facebook. And yeah it's got the new lower unit and 3 blade prop. Idk bout the handle because Iv never seen the "old" one

If that's your boat in the picture you have the old LU and handle.

Straight from email sent to myself and other dealers:

"With this increase the extended shaft price and the reverse plate price is included, so on paper the price is going up $50.

Example:
2014 GTR35L $6995, Reverse Plate $250
32” Extended Lower $350 Total $7595
The new GTR35L will cost $7645."

whats the stage one part of the motor? I might of missed it.

I would rather have the lower unit you have. I'm just not sold on the cast unit yet. Machined from solid has to be stronger but more expensive. Why else would they swap to cast, it has to be cheaper.
