 Best prop size
How do you determine the best prop size for a motor? I just bought a 23hp mudbuddy for my 14ft boat. It has a new prop on it but I want to buy one or two as extras to keep in the boat. What do you typically look for when selecting a new prop? Also prop suggestions are appreciated as well

 Best prop size
The 23 comes with a 11x10. My old 23 mbsd came with a big blade and ran great.
Call mb and get one from them.

 Re: Best prop size
Do you have a longtail or a surface drive? You posted in the longtail forum, the above wheel won't work if you have a longtail.

 Re: Best prop size
I was wondering about that Cus the numbers I see thrown around are usually 9x7, 9x6, etc so that sounded outrageous but since I just bought the motor but haven't seen it yet (my dad went and saw it and picked it up since I'm deployed for a few more days) I figured maybe mine was different.
Also for a used motor, I want to go through and clean it up, etc because I don't know how well the last owner kept up with it.
Do y'all have any good resources for videos, articles, etc about how to maintain an engine like that? I know a little about outboards but really nothing about small motors like this. You can take all the engineering courses you want, but you only learn theory. I understand how the motors work, but can barely find the carb, etc.
And good beginner info on how to clean, prep, maintain, and use it would be awesome.
