 Gdlt motor swap I picked up a 16 hp gdLt frame and I would like to put a 23 vanguard on it. 1 would the frame handle it?
2. Would would it bolt right up and shaft be aligned right.
3. Who got the cheapest price on a new 23 vanny
Not new to mud motors but this is my first rebuild/motor swap

Re: Gdlt motor swap I put a honda gx630 (20-22hp) on a gdlt frame that had a 16 vtwin vanguard. Pretty easy swap. Everything matched up about perfect. I have 70 hours on it so far with no issues. I also looked at the 23 vanguard, same specs as the honda.

Re: Gdlt motor swap Thanks man. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Found a great deal on a new 23 van at my local small engine repair shop. He was able to order it for me and should be pretty soon.

Re: Gdlt motor swap You will have to make minor adjustments with the motor mounts to get the shaft aligned perfect. ( moving the motor forward or backward). There is plenty of play in the motor mount holes to do this.
