Heading accross the TN river with my 2006 32 PD and the motor kicks up hard and the motor dies. When I recranked the motor and put it in gear it died again. Got the boat home and drained the gear oil...it was clean no shavings. I cranked the motor again out of the water and put it in gear and its makes a loud noise like (pots and pans banging). Either way its going to be expensive to fix...did I trash the clutch or lower unit or both. thanks for the help.

The bushing just above the gear knuckle in the LU might be shot....
