 Prodrive auto reverse issue
Coming off the trailer this morning the lower unit turned several degrees. Enough to come off the trailer sideways.
I ran it back up the trailer and made sure I had the lu fully rotated and tried again with the same results.
There is oil In the resivoir and the electric motor is going under a load when lu fully rotates to revers. (Noise changes )
No visible leaks on ram or lines.
Any suggestions?

 Re: Prodrive auto reverse issue
I had an issue with my lower rotating at high speeds and it turned out that the housing for my reverse pin was bent and that kept the pin from fully locking in the reverse plate. I havent any experience with auto reverse but it may be worth checking where the reverse plate locks.

Grease the piss outta it, the two fittings in the middle by the hydraulic cylinder. This is especially important if your in saltwater (them saltwater termites suck, huh) even if your not they get sticky and the ram is not that strong it can't push it through the sticky spot. Cycle it several times and grease as you go. You may have to "help" the LU around at first. This chit usually happens after its been sitting a while.

Installed the auto, took it off and threw it in the water, manual hasn't let me down yet. it's slower, but dependable.

 Re: Prodrive auto reverse issue
Make sure you don't have any water in your hydraulic fluid. Water changes the compress-ability of the fluid and can cause your hydraulic pump to lock up and/or not function properly. My trim was doing the same thing. I checked/cleaned all of the connections first, but everything was clean and tight, switch was not bad either. I checked the fluid and it had gotten some water in it somehow - so I changed the fluid and flushed the system. Works perfectly again. That's one reason not to paint the fluid tanks - so you can see the color. Oh well, gotta camo up!

Also check the switch. I've been through 2 of them. It goes forward fine and halfass goes into rev and the pump makes sound like it's working. Swap the wires on the switch and if it goes into rev like normal that's ur prob.
