It's coming man. I wish quieter exhausts were the norm because I see the noise being the next issue that they go after.

Hopefully it happens.

Then the people who duck hunt for food and the enjoyment of our livelihood would benefit, and we wouldnt have all these asshat idiots shooting anything they see messing it up for others.

I remember being 6 years old with my dad, and going with him and scouting, consisted of us in a pirogue on the outskirts of ponds and binoculars. And if i made any noise to scare the ducks, i got my ass beat!

Theres just tons of people who have no respect for duck hunting.
I think this is needed in alot more places too.

This would suck.....it's a 40 minute boat ride for me, and I'm running 30+. With a 17hp longtail, it would take an hour and a half.

So how is it a longtail is less intrusive than a surface drive? It's just slower.

Yall keep making them videos of you jumping land in the marsh, running over pouldeau and blasting by fisherman with your Harley exhausts. We are our own worst enemy. There needs to be an industry group looking out for their customers interest and an owners group who lobby for our interests.

I can see this coming.

its only a matter of time before the board realizes how destructive these motors are if not operated responsibly.

Biloxi already doesn't allow leasees to run pro drives on private leases. I had word this was coming. Going to be bad news for bowfishing as well.

Only good thing is I don't need a mm to hunt where I go out there.

The area I hunt is fished HARD! I see more fisherman than hunters every trip. They scare up more ducks than hunters, without question.

Same thing happened years ago with Muddi Gras and the Caddo Lake runs
Now with everyone running WAO with loud assed mufflers, it was just a matter of time!!

Post Re: Biloxi Marsh proposed ban on surface drives
So let me see if I read this article correctly. The Biloxi marsh is 100,000+ acres of wetlands (1/3 of which was "dontated" to the state in exchage for a tax break) that because of the MRGO for the last 50 years has been eroding away faster than anyone can stop/reverse. However, now that one landowner in the area saw a prop trail thru the mud, he came to conclusion that it 1) must have been caused because of a surface drive motor, and 2) without conducting any scientific evidence, that must be what is causing all the marsh to erode...........Why does this not surprise me.

Eventually you will end up with areas like we have up here. Paddle or trolling motor only. Fricken bird watchers and kayakers brought that one on.

I can see this becoming an epidemic in about 10 years. I live in a big county with a lot of lakes that banned airboats from being on the water after sunset on all lakes in the county about 5 yrs ago. Now most of the guys that had airboats have mud motors and the tree huggers are now pushing to ban all night time activity on the lakes.

People from MS are not using mud motors to get there. That is a long ass run dumbass an mighty rough. We have to have bay boats to get there to fish. Now that land should be MS

Yall better start typing boys even if you don't hunt this area. This is the first shot of the war. Do your part. It takes a few minutes to type something but spell check please...... Maybe if we inundate them with emails and phone calls, they will take note. I hope you all understand how serious this is.

To comment on the changes, hunters may call 225-765-2800 or email ssmith@wlf.la.gov. They may also elect to attend any of the following public meetings scheduled around the state:

Levees put up for the last 250 years all along the Mississippi and also dams done by our government or taken over by them, along with all the other debacles like MRGO have done more to screw up our marsh habitat than anything hunters and fisherman will do with boats.

Very simple don't lease the land from them. Then when that money stops coming in they going to say oh ok we will let them have their surface drives. Or put a radiator on it if they say no air cooled .

The Biloxi thing is a done deal apparently. All the private lease holders from the same owner have already received their notification letters that MM'S won't be allowed next year.
