 AR10 or R25 .308???
Looking to get me a hog gun for west tx and NE tx nig hunting. Anybody got a AR10 or R25 in .308?? WHY .308 i can get them reloaded for free Looks like a bunch of manufactures have them, just dont want o spend 1500 on a POS. Let me know.

How long of shots are you looking at? If not to far look into the big bore AR15.

no short shots all over 300yds up to 900yds.
Hogs in West TX are smaller but just as bad as the mexicans.....they are taking over i tell ya.
This years dove hunt we killed 5 with our shotguns.

Had an R25 for awhile, it was nice, didn't take but a few shots to heat up the thinner profile barrel compared to say a dpms 308 with heavier barrel. Shot great for a factory rifle.

last time we went spotlighting, 3 were dropped at just under 200 yards. one was standing still, the other 2 were not.
weapon of choice... good ole' fashion 30'06 bolt action.

I found the dpms ar-10 version to be very accurate but the lower receiver seemed a little under engineered for the .308cal. If your are gonna spend that much you should take a good look at the m1a rifles. I can personally say after putting about a thousand rounds through both that the m1a is way better built and is worth the money.
