I have a 2015 gator tail all stock but the new throttle lever like on the efi models and was doing some maintenance the motor has76.5 hours when i pulled the phillip head screw in order to grease the end near the prop they had water come out every time i pump the grease gun for bout 8 pumps wondering if seals are bad already?? I always cut whatever grass moss string or whatever seams to get wrapped behind the prop when i put it on the trailer or is this normal?? Also greased the othor end near the belt that return had just grease come out thanks

I have the new lower unit also. Seems to be common on the new lowers. I haven't had any issues yet also talked to gatortail. They said it's nothing to be alarmed over. I have roughly around 90 hrs, motors about 9 months old.

You need to be adding new grease to the rear zerk every 15 hours.

New lower unit here and I have not had water or and milky grease come out. Grease mine every 10 hours. Hopefully ai dont run into this

what kinda grease yall using? or better yet does it matter what kind you use as long as there is grease in the shaft? I got some free stuff at work is why im wondering.

I grease both sides every 15 hours, sometimes before depends how hard I run it. I use the grease that gatortails sells. I think it schaeffer's grease not sure which one, I would have to look. It's not much water, first 3 - 4 pumps clear water comes out.

Pretty sure you have to use a certain lithium base grease. Of thats what Gatortail tells you. Shaeferrs comes with a new Gatortail but amsoil grease works too

They switch grease to suit their needs. Any extreme pressure grease will work in the bearings.

Had trash holding seal open ended up bringing it to Gatortail they got it all straight everything is ok the service is awesome real good down to earth guyes over there i was super satisified

So its ok to have water coming out of the NEW lower when you add grease? There's not one thing about that concept that seems OK to me. Maybe one of you gt guys can explain why having water in there is ok. It seems as though from the OP's experience, it was not a normal thing, as a seal was not operating properly.
