 Re: Japanese mini trucks
They got big around here for a little while. Had a couple of friends that could get them for a little of nothing and got into fixing them up and selling them. They were nice to have at the camp to hunt out of but that's about it since his only had heaters and were hot as hell to ride in the summer. I wanna say with the lift they put in them 27's were the biggest tire you could fit, and they would carry 6 people and hunting gear, 2 in the cab and 4 in the back on bench seats under a custom cover.

 Re: Japanese mini trucks
I have actually been looking into them for my farm. It's near impossible to find one remotely close. But if they're worth it, ill gladly buy one. We had one on our lease in Arkansas but whenever I joined, they had quit running it in favor of a ranger. Don't know if there was a certain reason because everyone talked about how much they loved the jap truck.

 Re: Japanese mini trucks
I had 2 of them on the farm. They are ok but you'll spend a lot of time and money working on them and finding parts. Despite what everyone tells you, the parts are not easy to get when you need them. Also, you will probably have to work on them yourself. After a year I got rid of them and bought a diesel 4 seat ranger and a 4 seat kubota rtv 1140.

What advantage do those have over a UTV?

 Re: Japanese mini trucks
I have a 1994 suzuki carry that i drive almost daily. I bought it about a year ago and have put lots of miles on it. Mine is street legal, has working a/c and heat. I paid $3,200 for it and have put about another 1K in it (new tires, heavy duty front springs, new seals in front diff, rebuilt front cv joints, fuel pump, new exhaust, wipers, bulbs, etc.) The only advantage of a mini truck vs. utv for me is the street legal aspect of it. It does surprisingly well offroad (4x4 with rear locker, only has 23" tires, no lift) but not as well as a utv. I have not had any problems with parts, but have only needed a couple of things (front diff seals, turn signal lens, cv joint rebuild). There are lots of websites that sell new and used parts. I have a friend that is a mechanic and has been able to fix everything so far that needed it. It takes just a little to get used to driving on the wrong side and shifting with your left hand but I had a little practice with them in Iraq. If you find one in your price range that is in great shape I think it will make a fine farm truck. You didn't ask any specific questions so this is just my thoughts about them.

 Re: Japanese mini trucks
They are popular here on sheep and dairy farms. You find them here with 4 wheeler rims and tyres on them and from what I've heard is that the little troopers will go as many places as a atv but with the advantage of a heater.

I could've bought a couple for $1500 a piece but they didn't have titles. Something about emissions

 Re: Japanese mini trucks
Howdy are they still available? If so where are they? We can drive these on the road here with a Indiana orv sticker. I'm looking for one for my wife. We are willing to drive for a good rig at a fair price.

 Re: Japanese mini trucks
No man they are not. The guy had bought them at an auction somewhere and had stopped by trying to sell them to my grandfather.
