This is a toss up and really don't know what to think. I saw a helluva lot more birds, in some places I hunt, than I have ever seen. They just wouldn't commit for chit. I give it a 3.

Seems alot of guys keep deer hunting as a backup and are creeping into it more and more. That's what I did. I was a hardcore waterfowl guy until about 10 years ago. Then I took up deer hunting and caught the fever bad.

The funny thing was I used to think deer hunting in general was tough. Then I tried to get serious the last couple years and make some duck hunts. It wasn't like I remembered. The fricking deer hunting is a snap compared to duck hunting IMO. Plus like was said, racing to a from the ramp, getting crowded out, more travel time for me to duck hunts, scratch hunts. It just don't seem worth it. I guess u gotta really luv it.

I'd give it a 7 - cause we killed, laughed, lied, and ate good in the

duck blinds we built --- then went deep searchin out duck with our

GDSD's till we found where they was hiding --- and no one was out

where we was --- cause they was sleepin in !!!

Also --- got a huge kick out them young uns we put on them ducks....

i gave it a 9. Only got to hunt the first two months of the season cause i had to go back to work. But we did great most times we did hunt with mostly double limits and quite a few triple limits which many of those days could have easily been 5 limit days!!! :)
And you know the crazy thing about our success is that our two worst days were opening day and opening day of the split. believe it or not. We only got one duck for those days.

Yall wouldn't get out of bed to chase the number of ducks we've got.
But I gave it a seven. We've had snow on the ground since Dec 19th. Never seen that here before. Birds have been jacked up but we hunted spots that produced birds. We hunted in 9 different counties this season. Hunted some lottery hunts that the state does and killed birds all three days. We're actually still goose hunting. Sept 1 - Feb 28th. Long season, wife pissed off a lot but she's got six months to get over it. Or kick me out.

One of the best we have had up here in years. They opened up a section of the river that had been closed since before I was born and man were the ducks their. Nobody else could hardly get to the spots we hunt because we are the only ones wiht Mud Motors so we smacked them. My brother and I got 9 goose bands this year and A 9 year lod banded Mallard sweet season. Especially after living out west and finaly hunting back home

This year would have to be up there with the worst season I've ever had but we still managed to do well. We still killed lots of birds even though the vast majority were teal. I do not have a total number but limits were killed atleast 75% of the time and I really don't think that I got skunked once, this is including teal season. The last few weeks were hard just because of a lack of water in the area holding the birds on my land, when the water would leave so would the birds. I give it a 5.

i was lucky enough to hunt almost every day this past duck season.

my normal spots in the lake produced 4 ducks and a merganser.
shot a few woodies and jacks in the basin.
if it weren't for teal at the small lease i have in the marsh i would of quit hunting and went back to work.

did manage a couple mallards and a couple greys when it froze.

by far the worst i've ever done in lake fausse point in almost 30 yrs.

next yr i'm gonna go up north to hunt.

Didn't have many birds at my normal place but did well in other places!! The second split was pretty dam impressive I think we killed 300 birds out of one blind for it!!

I gave it an 8 it was okay we ended up killing almost a 1000 birds which is great dont get me wrong but what were use to killing was a little better than average. We had a stretch where we killed almost 300 mallards in 12 days. You boys talkin about going to deer huntin are crazy! You only get one shot and cant talk. The duck blind is about being able to shoot the bull with the boys and if your lucky you can shoot a few ducks.
