You're a math teacher?

Then you teach grade school arithmatic correct? :o Now we all know why LA schools annually rank low in national standardized testing!

Look man, you're talking about some specific lease in one area, and the rest of us are talking about duck leases in general. You quoted my post so I assumed you were referring to MY comments specifically, and I specifically stated you and 4 buddies (1+4=5).......Then you tried to make it seem as if I couldn't divide properly since I'm a doctor, and were hoping to show me up.....but unfortunately you failed to accurately comprehend the scenario, and ended up looking foolish yourself. Don't feel bad, its common in your neck of the woods. :D

ok what in the hell is grade school? How old are you 55? I dont teach I was pulling your leg. I work in a plant but atleast I was smart enough to sit behind a computer all day :D

BTW I dont take stuff personal on the interwebz

Ok, today's a different day, and I'm too busy to banter back and forth with the S. Louisiana crowd. Its been fun, and hope ya'll enjoyed it. I certainly did. BTW, don't take anything personal, its just too much fun to pull the pin and throw back the grenade's you sent my way!!![/quote]

FTR... I got da green light yesterday from an oilfield company that needs a good tax right-off to find them a duck lease in Pecan Island and I could have huntin rights in exchange for the finders fee.

Any body know of anything?

Stump,

Good luck in finding something on Pecan Island. I hunted with some buddies the closing weekend there and they gave me the run down on the surrounding areas and their lease as well. Let's just say they don't have openings very often, and they have what they call tryouts when they do. Leases exchange hands next to never unless something unusual happens like a hurricane.....maybe the economy could do it. You need info from and insider to be the first to move.

I can't blame you for wanting to get in. That place was laid out with oilfield roads that cut right thru the lease. Very little running time, very conveinent, and they had plenty birds.

If I hear something I'll let you know. Keep trying. When there's a will there's a way.

Post Re: looking for duck lease in LA
I'm gonna' see one of the the guys in a couple weeks that is a member on that lease. I will inquire then and get an update. I think I have found myself in a situation where those dudes have a mix of 1/2 young members and the other 1/2 are old and crippled. If I submit myself to being their work bitch for a weekend before the season I will have carte blanche to the place. besides that they have some of da' shittiest equipment and motors I have laid eyes on. When I showed up with my smooth running boat and motor they thought they had died and gone to heaven. I hope da' phone will be ringing off the hook come September.

FWIW...those boys hunt next to some of the Vermillion Corp land, next to oneof fthe Exxon facilities. They told me a story, a few years back some of the guys on the lease over to their'sgot busted for baiting. The judge acting as agent for the landowner threw them off and put it back up for bid. Same guys outbid everybody else for $60k a little over 2000 acres. Thought I'd mention it since it does go with the topic on top.

Moral of that story is even on the Island stuff does change hands, and you can make things happen. Its all about having the right info at the right time, the right backing doesn't hurt either. You seem to have that in place.

I will inquire some more, if I hear I will let you know.
