Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**
How is the performance on that 37 GD.
like you said my 35 is a dream to drive in open water. I have a slight pull to the left just enough to just cup my hand around the throttle.

Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**
The few times I've had a GPS on it it's good for 29ish in open deep, fairly calm water. His GT is no doubt faster than mine I'm sure, but that's not why I bought what I did I also have probably 100lbs on him in the ass dept lol. I can take two fingers, pinch the grip and the throttle between them and run the boat. There is zero tq to one side or the other unless it's trimmed too high. Even then it's manageable. It naturally turns left better than right. The handle is on the left side of the engine. It's just an easier reach. Going right isn't bad but with no other weight in the boat it wants to hop a little. Still nothing that I can't power out of. I'm happy with every aspect of how mine runs. It's exceeded my expectations without a doubt.

I'd be really interested to see how they run side by side as well.. You also gotta remember i just pulled another 200 lbs out the back of my boat too.

Where did that 200 come from?

Wet foam an aluminum. Not exactly 200lbs but somewhere in that range. each pod i cut out weighed about 50 each the foam in the floor was soaked and the aluminum floor itself weighed about 50 if not alittle more with all that safe floor.

I have never posted an impolite word to you or about you Jordan...
But fact is you put a ton of abuse on that old GDSD and it is still going...
Best of luck with the GTR...

Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**
Considering that you installed those seals yourself and they smoked when you test ran the engine on the trailer right afterward - not really surprised....
Have your buddy send it to Heritage over in Beaumont - they do top notch GDSD maintenance work....
Like I said - Good luck with the GTR...

Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**
The reverse plates were cracking on the originals. That problem has since been remedied. This is the first I see or hear about one cracking in that spot. Don't worry about it not being under warranty. Just get with GT and get it replaced.

I'm not at all worried about it being under warranty and getting fixed. I just wanna go out on my brand new boat n enjoy myself.

Setx Longtail you also bought a drive out rig. Jordan transplanted a gtr to a go devil boat. Some tweaks should be expected. Hope you both have good luck with your rigs.

Re: GTR 37 EFI on 18x60 Go Devil **re-powered**
So I got my motor back a few days ago after sending it back because of the tiller torgue and the crack I noticed. He moved the motor 1-3/8" over liked I asked. Man what a difference went from running 28 bumping 29 to 29 steady bumping 30. The boat is a lot easier to drive but still is tough making that left turn, guess I'm gonna have to live with that. For the crack I noticed....he has three more in his shop and everyone had it on them. Gator tail told him that it is a flaud in the motor but nothing to worry about. Now that the motor is in the right place I really do see why ppl like these motors. Plenty of power, great hole shot and great on fuel. Now duck season needs to hurry up
