What size are the pop rivets that they use to hold down the floor on a gatortail boats? I drilled mine out to clean paint my entire boat. thanks in advance.

Not sure but I would go back with 3/16x3/4 or 1" stainless rivets.

They should be 3/16 though.

Yup, Top metal will hold but mushroomed end will wallow out and loosen.

Yes they will if they stay wet for a extended period of time. The stainless piano hinges on the rear hatch and livewell of my bass boat just had to have the rivets replaced. The livewell hinge get wet from throwing in fish and the rear gets wet from hammering down in reverse. All of these rivets were corroded and broke right where the rivets contacted the hinges.

However, it's the aluminum that corrodes and using the bigger SS rivets will do the job.

Galvanic corrosion 101....the farther apart on the galvanic series chart, the more aggressive the corrosion on the less noble material. The stronger the electrolyte between the two metals, add heat, add electrical current....the more aggressive the corrosion. Just the metals in contact with each other without an electrolyte will not cause galvanic corrosion (crevice corrosion, yes...galvanic, no).

where can I get them at? ebay has them for 12 bucks for 25. that's 3/16 x3/4 inch big flange.

yup, big difference. I'm debating on cutting my floor out to repair a broken rib. When my clutch went out, this guy in a 24' hanko pulled me in and beat the shit out of my boat. Now I have a slight flex in one spot of the floor. I also debated on putting a cross brace across the floor to help support, but I hate rigging shit. Like to do it right, thus me considering riveting my floor back rather than fully welded out like it is now.
