No kidding! I thought you guys were yankin my chain last year about arkansas adopting the tag system. Mr. Green Jeans politely told me opening morning that my MMT buddies were in fact correct as he was writing me a $400 ticket for 2, count em, 2! Teal because I had 0 tags... I packed my shit quietly, went home and plucked my teal and put them in a ziplock baggy labled $400 teal. I now have a stack of tags ready for opening day!

In texas you must get the super super combo in order to be eligible to purchase teal tags!

I buy a super combo license every year. Freshwater, salt water, and hunting... Public permit is another $47, then migratory waterfowl stamp (federal)

2x super combo is the one that comes with teal tags to go with the duck stamp. Can't get teal tags without a duck stamp or proof of you purchasing one (receipt etc...)

I got screwed out of my teal tags this year. Bought a lifetime hunt/fish combo in LA only to find out you have to buy annually to be eligible for tags. Now I can't hunt public for teal. Only private with land owners issued tags per average feedable acre. That leaves me with two tags all season.

That sucks ass, we can shoot 6 teal a day. No tags. And wow its expensive for you guys in tx. Combo hunt fish ks 32.50 here. Then u gotta buy state ,federal and hip

Teal tags are by state. We don't have them here

Correct LAH, they're federally mandated, but the state sets the limit they sell and cost based on their own surveys and such.

QnS, check with your local TPWD office, you're in the south zone right? It will be different than mine in the north zone. Just whatever you do, don't eff up and get hammered without them. The fines are going up too this year. I'm just glad Texas isn't distinguishing between BW, GW and Cinnies. Just one tag for all species, but you damn sure better have them. I heard a GW talking about the surveys down in the bay and around Hugo Pt not long ago. Shouldn't be hard to get plenty in your area, but they'll be checking to make sure every bird is properly harvested and tagged. Just FYI.

For real. Some states have legit teal tags.

If the tags are not listed on their schedule of fees and such, they may very well be sold out already!!

In Arkansas they have never been listed, as far back as I can remember, also they have no idea what I am talking about when I called them and i can't find any mention of it federally. So if someone can show me something that state this, that would be awesome.

I have never heard of teal tags. And every year on opening day we come in with 3-4 limits of teal and get checked by the GW and they have never said anything about it.

Also I have never seen anything on the LA WLF website about it.. And I have never seen a person at the landing I put in at have them and usually there's 20-30 of us and some GW hunt with us. So pretty sure yall are blowing smoke up people's asses.

You might want to check again. The influx of money from the Louisiana and Mississippi programs prompted Alabama to consider them for last season, but I think they adopted them for this year finally. I was reading something back before I went to at, so would've been around mid-may.
