Just watched PBS special on Louisiana Wildlife Agents. They showed an arrest for baiting ducks somewhere in the marsh. They caught the son hunting over baited blind then cut to the father admitting to have placed the bait. The hunters' base of operation was a huge steel houseboat barge. Daddy had lots of money, apparently. What was most shocking was the scale of the operation and the extent of the baiting. They filmed literally dozens of unopened sacks of commercial corn and just as many empty sacks hidden in the hold of the steel barge. What an example for a father to set and what idiots they are. They did not mention who the culprits were but if any of you know who they are I'd appreciate your sharing that with us.

I think baiting should be legal for everybody....not just the privileged few.

How much corn is grown is Louisiana? That has got to show up like a neon sign. I have flown over baited areas in Illinois and you could tell if the baiter was left handed or right handed by which way the corn spread hooked.

Just plant Japanese millet, it grows wild so no one can accuse you of baiting. Or soybeans, they sink and you cannot see them but they have a god awful smell...

After i retire from out here, i will be a game warden. Using all that modern technology and stuff sounds awesome.

Wait for it. It is coming in increments. If obama can rename mountains he can certainly issue an executive order declaring all of the marshes and wetlands an endangered area and ban hunting, fishing or even using the land.
It's coming.

The next employment stimulus plan to put people back to work in the Dakotas since the frac business is down...

Its all bullshit. Think about this, you can plant milo, corn or whatever you want for the ducks. Your not going to harvest it, its strickly for the ducks. So why cant you put feed out. Isnt it the same thing? Or I have hunted flooded rice fields before. Ther cut what they can get and buffalo the rest. Your still leaving a food source for the species. Planting with the intent not to harvest is no better than someone throwing out a sack of corn or whatever. Its not a naturally occurring food source. never understood this and never will. Hell, you can shoot deer while there eating your f'n rice bran. Its a double standard and it bullshit.
