Are any GTR or MB props thread compatible with Copperhead?
Does anyone know offhand if any of the GTR or MB threaded props are thread and shaft size compatible with a Copperhead? I am interested in buying some worn out ones to cut down and experiment with.
Thx!

Copperhead props are made just for the copperhead gearing. If you want to try something else look at hill marine.
But to answer your question, no none of them fit because gt and mb props are hex and copperhead is threaded.

Re: Are any GTR or MB props thread compatible with Copperhea
I had said that I wanted to cut one down. Also, some of the Copperhead props are 11" diameter whereas a Big Blade is 12" diameter, which means that a worn down Prop that size would be what I want, I would just have to have it repitched. The catch is the threads. I am aware that the new motors are sold with hex shafts, but I was under the impression that some of the older motors used a threaded shaft, and a look a the BPS web site shows that BPS does indeed sell some threaded props. I don't know about Gatortail since there is no info on their web site, and I still don't know whether the threads would match.

Denny, which prop are those thread spec's for? Thanks!
Jimmy, Copperhead 18's have been made with both Kohler and Vanguard engines and the 23's are Briggs Vanguard, same as a Gatortail. For the smaller ones, Copperhead makes them with Kohler or Briggs 2100 if you don't like the LCT engines. For me, the Copperhead is an intentional choice over the Gatortail, with the reason being that when the light boat with the Copperhead gets stuck on a sand bar, I can drag it back to the water myself. When my hunting buddies got stuck with a Gatortail in the same spot, they had to get an air boat to pull it back to water because the boat could not be dragged and the nearest water is too far away for another mud boat to help without getting stuck itself. If I do decide to get a bigger boat though, it will have a Gatortail. It is like comparing apples and oranges though or a Corvette and an 18-wheeler. They both have their place.

The copperhead is the corvette? Miata may have been a better choice for the that analogy.
