i am new to mud motors, but recently bought an older longtail with an 8hp briggs on it. i was going to use a 12-14ft jon boat but have changed thoughts and am thinking about upgrading the engine on the frame i bought to a larger motor. i see many people have used the 16hp duromax, but is there a reason i cant find anyone using the 18hp duromax? i would like to swap that on and put it on a sneak boat or a 14-16ft jon boat to have some more room. any help is really appreciated. i will try to attach pictures of the mentioned sneak boat. it has a very shallow draft but is heavier than the jon boat.smith boat 2.jpg
