 Gen2 prodrive skeg
Hey guys I run a bunch of hard bottom up my direction and noticed that my skeg is preventing me from getting good bite from time to time, I know a couple people have trimmed theirs and that Bayouboy makes some. Just wanted to see what my options are to help with this situation, pics would be appreciated!

Yes....allows churned up mud and water to reach the prop much more efficiently. I see no difference in performance when it comes to putting my boat on a step. So, I would rather have performance where it counts.

It makes a huge difference in the thick stuff. Let's that regurgitated pancake batter, concrete mix....whatever you want to call it....get to the prop. The vertical AND horizontal plates don't allow the prop to suck stuff into it as good as it does without. With, the prop will blow out more than without.

It just makes a lot of noise if you trim down too far.....you'll know! LOL

 Re: Gen2 prodrive skeg
I have a cut stock one. Leave the torque tab on it. Most of the meat off else where, but leave as much as possible between the tower and the transom. this will limit the build up of vegetation between the motor and boat. All you are trying to so is help the outdrive angle.

 Re: Gen2 prodrive skeg
Buddy, can you post a pic? I am trying to decide whether to cut down the stock or cut a new one out. Everyone seems to agree that they perform better.
Can anyone comment on performance over a hard bottom? Will it allow you to run and or recover better when bumping bottom on plane?

 Re: Gen2 prodrive skeg
Buddy of mine runs a cut down stocker and its not the same. The drive angle sucks on the PD for hard sandy bottom, but the skeg helps. I also took the wedge off my stock one and welded it to prestons to help with the tiller torque.
