 Re: Tangle-Free Decoy Weights
I actually use some weedeater cord 1.05 diameter, its clear and black, works great, cheap. and does not tangle like the 400lb leader, I have leader and weadeater cord on about half mine. The weedeater cord is better, but I do not use the small barrel weights on mine. I use the larger 6-12 oz weights on one end. Works great for all conditions, even heavy wind.

http://www.snlcorp.com/SNL/Other/DuckDecoyKit.aspxDo it yourself kits. I suggest adding large swivels to the keel, passing the line through them. The most important part of Texas Rigs that most "brand name" styles don't have is that the decoy need to slide along with the weight. Loops both ends. Pick up the decoy, grab the loop, decoy slides down. No wet hands. Simple. Me and a buddy went in on a small lead melting pot and a mold. Hit up your local tire shops for lead. The little tire weights for balancing are easy to melt and pour.

 Re: Tangle-Free Decoy Weights
I bought a 4 oz mold and started making my own from tire weights for pennies. I use weedeater string and it won't tangle. The crimps and loops will catch one another sometimes but that's it.

 Re: Tangle-Free Decoy Weights
Does the weedeater cord straighten over time? My favorite by far is 14g stranded wire. Perfect size for crimps, strong and doesn't tangle ever.

 Tangle-Free Decoy Weights
http://www.louisianalead.com/#!decoy-weights/c22tyThese are reasonably priced and local product for most of us. On shelf at Puglias. Cheaper than Game Winner, Tanglefree, Rig em Right, Etc. Not sure how I put up with other rigging before I made switch. The J hook and bungee rigs were nice but still work. This is literally zero work. Decoys do take a beating though.
