Post Hard water surface drive
I miss running my surface drive so much in the winter I decided to build one for winter use. I wasn't going to go the standard snowmachine route because like most folks that run mudmotors I wanted to be a little different. The track and lower unit are from a short track Skidoo Alpine with F-N-R, The engine is a 440 twin from a Polaris GT snowmachine and the trailer on skis with the seat is from a Bolen Diablo Rouge. I now have a surface drive that goes much faster than I feel comfortable with. I chicken out at about 50 mph and that is at 3/4 throttle. Despite taking out a corner of my neighbors shed and backing into a snowbank at 30 mph I really enjoy jumping Beaver Dams with it. The utube video is called the articulated box and can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tIViAo9oF8
