Mb 35 hd getting on plane
I have a 2011 mb 35 hd and it seems like the last few times ive taken it out it seems like its having trouble getting up and going, granted i have 4 people in the boat with gear.. could it possibly be a worn belt? Im running a 1751 excel. First year with the setup so im not quite sure if its just too much for the boat or if there is actually a problem any help would be appreciated thanks!

Stock motor? If so, not enough motor. Mod it!

Yea its stock. Just seems like the belt is slipping or something might just be getting stretched and needs to be tightened but i figured id ask since its my first mud motor and my lack of expirience with them lol

Re: Mb 35 hd getting on plane
If your going to carry a heavy load most of the time, you might start by going to a 32T upper gear or a 52T lower gear. This will help motor get into its best rpm and torque range. Also a flatter pitched smaller dia. prop sometimes helps. If this doesn't help then heads, carb and exhaust can be bolted on motor to help it breath. Gets $$$$ though.

Do a visual inspection of the belt and get a tension gauge and check the tension.

Re: Mb 35 hd getting on plane
Chances are its a worn prop not anything slipping. The belts has teeth it can't slip

Re: Mb 35 hd getting on plane
4 people with a hunting load? You would be lucky to run good with a stock motor. Your belts not slipping. If it was you would know it and go back to the ramp. Tell one of you friends to stay home and yo will be good
