I was curious about Troy and his wealth. I have been filmed by both Natgeo and The History Channel in regards to my fisheries. Both have enough footage to do a series. There were several of us fisherman involved. I was considered a showcase fisherman. When money was discussed it was meager the first year,double meager the second ,a lot the third year and crazy money after the third year.
I was told that if it went three or more years I would be wealthy.
Neither have released any of the footage however a attorney spoke to my attorney a few months back about a new contract.
I was curious to see if Troy was set before the show or if the five years or so of shows made him financially secure.
In regards to Swamp People if the producers would have used their popularity to their advantage and covered more aspects of the swamp people(fisherman, shrimping,crabbing, oysters,logs,trapping,cooking etc) the show would last forever.
As we all know and those of us who have alligator fished in La. know that the show has run its course.

Troy Landry's family has been successful due to years of hard work with his Dad Duffy and brother.
They have the Shell Gas Station with its store and bait / supply shop as well as the Duffy's
wholesale seafood business. Crawfish is also a big ticket item for them.

RJ Molinere has had a moderately good heavy equipment related business doing dams, levees, flood protection , etc. He also represented USA in an arm wrestling world cup in Italy.

RJ has that new airboat since last season built by Panther in Cocoa Beach , Florida.
Counter -Rotating turbine props are an expensive option.

I like seeing anyone doing honest work to be blessed.

I do look at the whole Houma tribal Indian references in the show with some doubt since they are only recognized by the State of Louisiana and have been repeatedly refused US Government endorsement over the last 20 years.
