a couple gallons is plenty. lil heath's 90 or 115 ran on 2 gals or less. I can't wait to see these motors run.

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
Spoke to Freedom Outboards today, they are supposed to start shipping 28th of this month if the legal rambling gets finalized.
This may be the answer I am looking for. 21 mph in my PD is painfully slow and I was considering adding a 2nd PD which adds to the weight. Now I am seriously considering the Freedom Outboard route and sell the PD engine I have now.
What say you?

I would certainly need to see it do more than I saw in the video to consider it.

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
if they are serious about selling them they ought to get some out there and let people like me run them every day for a while to see if they will holdup to the use.

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
I can't see this thing displacing GTs and PDs on the LA mudflats. But for guys hunting river systems, flooded timber, or (bigger market) bass fishermen with a second tourney boat for weed-choked lakes like Guntersville, it could be a sweet alternative to a traditional outboard.

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
My experience with outboards is that if you hit a log hard at half throttle it can break all kinds of stuff. Hope they beefed the parts up on whole motor and lower, cause those stumps made me cringe every time.

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
There has to be some good in this new design for Mercury & Tohatsu to be hitching their wagon to these guys.
Look forward to cruising at 35 instead of dragging at 21 mph

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
That's true but 11k for cruising at 35 on a small boat. Noticed they didn't have the hull size on the video. It Does say its 300 lbs though. Seems very similar to an outboard besides its able to go through some weeds here and there. When i see a video of some high speeds, low end torque, and able to roll through some thick mud and vegetation, While pushing a decent size boat, I'll be more sold on the idea.

I still say that for a river and timber motor where mud doesn't play a big factor, these things have huge potential. If they pan out, you will see a lot of folks running these things in places away from tidal influence

That cooling system isn't going to weigh what you have estimated in earlier posts banded. It'll add some weight but I don't think it'll be deal-breaker kinda weight.

Fan, radiator, tank, hoses, fittings, and fluid will be close to that for sure.

I'm thinking that Chad Belding could test one out for us. As we all know he taught dead animal how to run a boat and how to duck hunt.

Re: Best new Mudmotors of 2016 lmao
Why not just mod a mud motor frame to fit a Harley engine, like a SS built motor that weight about 120lb, can turn 6000 rpms without blowing, turn a big or higher pitch prop, is air cooled, and sounds really good!

What about a Diesel engine? Since there's such a high demand
