 Sub par teal seasons.
Are they going to be the norm now? Just doesn't seem like the birds show up like they used to

 Re: Sub par teal seasons.
Just depends on the weather. Couple decent fronts and we'll have birds. You should have been here back when they just eliminated teal season for a few years.....didn't think they'd ever give it back to us.

with a wet and warmer fall this year - most of them are still in the northern part of our state. I have only seen a couple small flocks moving through

 Re: Sub par teal seasons.
it's all about selling hunting stuff. guns, shells, camo, boats..... u name it.
instead of a few years of 30/3, we will get stories of ''world record duck numbers ' and stuff like that.

I'm gonna pass on the teal now, I'll go chase the squirrels come October.

 Re: Sub par teal seasons.
Around here (Houston Area / SETX) if you have rice, you have teal. Simple.

 Re: Sub par teal seasons.
We have pretty decent teal numbers in the rice fields in southern vermilion parish. Hoping opening morning shooting will scatter them into the coastal marshes like they usually do.

Maybe y'all can send some north!
Birds or no birds, a good time will be had where I'm hunting. Going to cook some breakfast and drink some black coffee!

 Re: Sub par teal seasons.
I think they will scatter out a lot after the shooting starts opening morning. Still lots of water around here after all the flooding a few weeks ago.

Cold front coming through Indiana Saturday. Should help. Lots of woodies on my slough but zero teal.

 Re: Sub par teal seasons.
They here lol. There's a few rice fields I get to hunt during big duck season this year and I went by em yesterday and you couldn't get another teal in it if you wanted to...weather or not they move in and out of them though will be another story.
Friend of mine that guides in el campo and their lodge killed several thousand teal in September last year, he said they got more birds this year than they've ever seen.
