I'll stick with my 390

Love my 390 and 391 as well! The 400 with the kick off is the smoothest shooting shot gun I personally have ever fired. It comes with the shims you will need to be able to fit it to your liking as well.

I took my A400 clay shooting and it would Half the time with that cheap target load. One guy had is A5 and another had a SBE2 and all would jam just as much if not more than mine.

I took my 391 to a sporting clays shoot the other day. shot great all day.

Have put a couple thousand through my maxus since I got it in March. It's been great shooting skeet but almost jammed a few times on some cheap ass low brass loads on the dove field last weekend . But these shells are so bad that Probly 3-5 out of every box was deformed at the crimped end.

What do guys consider crapy shells. I've been shooting Kent's blue box 1 1/8# 8 for skeet. My 1187 hangs up once or twice a round. My buddy shoots the same shells out of an A400 and I've never seen it hang up.

Spend the money and shoot Winchester AA or Remington STS shells. I find em around here for about $7.99 a box. Great, clean shooting shells.

Then save the hulls and send to me!

Y'all be aware that some guns you try at the local counter may not even have the standard shims in them. Deal animal had some sound advice. Make the shop install the shims that most closely fit your needs.

I've seen shop guns (right side ejecting guns) set up shim-wise for left-handed guys with no necks. Based on that, what right-handed, long-necked shooter would ever pick it up and say "this is the gun for me!"?

Shot my A5 in a skeet shoot last week, shot the hell out of those low brass shells with no problems.

Shims in my A400 were for a left hand shooter and had too little angle in the vertical. Was about to throw mine in the water until ScaryGary told me about those shims. Watched a YouTube video and it was on like donkey kong after that.

I agree flint. Gonna try some better shells for skeet this week. Still getting a new shotgun. Headed out later today to shoulder a few.

I shot those $5 a box 1 ounce 6's all teal season out of my a300 outlander and i think it jammed once. Sweet little gun and about half the price of the a400 and sbe2. Only shoots 2 3/4 and 3" though

I shot an old mossberg pump for twenty five years then one day the barrel was bent and couldnt hit anything. Went out and got me that BE2, but its barrel was bent too..... turns out im blind could have saved the $1500! had to pay for glasses anyway. now the barrels only a little bent

I fed plenty of those rounds through it too.

Any semi auto will shoot any shell with a Sure Cycle in it. I have had My Benelli M2 12 gauge since 2004 or 2005 when they did away with the M1 (Super 90), so it's roughly 12 years old.

Even when it was brand new I couldn't shoot the cheaper low brass or whatever the cheap cheap shells are called with the silver "brass". Then one really cold day about 5 years ago duck hunting, my 3" high brass shells wouldn't cycle.

My buddy told me about sure cycle and it's been the best thing I've ever done on my gun.

I bought my wife a new M2 about 5 years ago and my older gun with a sure cycle shot better than her brand new gun. It cycles the cheapest of shells and cycles a lot faster.

I use it for everything, clays, ducks, dove, whatever. Paired with a modified choke made by Angle Port by Ballistic Specialties it's the only gun I shoot.

Having a gas operated shotgun capable of cycling 3.5" steel and low pressure target loads sounds great in theory, but is often an unreliable combination in the real world.

Get a 3" gun, learn how to pattern your gun, and forget about the 3.5" bullshit. It buys you a lot more dependability with light target loads.

Stu if you really want a gun that you're going to shoot clays with you're giving up a lot by not having two different chokes in it for each shot.

I know this is probably a huge "no" for you but if I was only going to pick one for clays, ducks, and dove here in FL, this would be it:



I have one if you want to go shoot it. I kill just as many ducks with it as I do with my M2 or any gas-op semi-auto I've ever owned, and my clays/five stand are better because I can run two different chokes and pick which bbl I want to light first. I was never a double guy but they point so well my first and second shots are lethal.

Come by and pick her up if you want to take her for a spin at Markham Park. Take the M2 as well; I have 26 and 28" bbls for it. I also have a 28" and 30" Cynergy. (28 is Field model; 30 is the camo one). You're welcome to whatever I have in the safe for a test drive.
