 Tiller torque/Pulling
I know this has been asked before but can't seem to find a post that answers my questions.
I bought a 2012 Brother 1848. 3/16 bottom with 1/8 sides. 2012 GTR 35, mikuni carb, MPE exhaust, Will C did the mods and tuned the boat. 3 blade. Ran it for the first time this week. The thing runs incredible. Clocked 27 into the wind, deep water, light chop with me, full 12 gallons of gas, 60 lb lab.
My question pertains to the boat pulling to the right, especially at higher speeds. It is enough that I am basically fighting the tiller to keep it on a line. I tried multiple different trim levels and nothing fixed it - obviously some levels were better than others but still too much torque to be happy with it.
The tab/skeg is already bent - but I believe this is the factory setting rom GatorTail. Do you guys recommend bending the skeg until I get no torque in the tiller? Thanks in advance.

You didn't look very hard. Bend the skeg if trimming doesn't work. Or hit it with a sledgehammer. Or start off lowering it into the water with it already turned some. It might help.

Glad you finally got a boat slim. Just making sure you are aware I only serviced the engine a while back. Mods were already done when I saw boat. I was told setx installed heads and mikuni. Just making clear brother

Will, thanks for the clarification. That is true (setx and mikuni). I thought you did the mods - my mistake. I am going to head to the lake tomorrow and will look into adjustments.

 Re: Tiller torque/Pulling
Did you try moving weight from side to side? Some boats are very sensitive to excess weight on one side or the other. On one of my boats I could neutralize the tiller by moving my tool box to the other side. I know, thats too easy, but just try it before you start bending things.

 Re: Tiller torque/Pulling
My GTR has always had torque turn left to go straight. A while back I hit something that put a dent in the skeg, when I was grinding it out I put a slight taper to the back 2/3 of the skep. It does not torque as much as it did before. Can't feel the difference as I have hydro steering. I have the older style lower.
