 It's Hot here in Africa! Just wanted to shout out from here in Africa. Starting to get warm, around 101 today with heat index of 115 or so and humidity around 80%. Few months down about 6 more to go!

Re: It's Hot here in Africa! Military? They used to send me to Bahrain a lot. Did a lot of mine hunting and sweeping in the NAG. (Northern Arabian Gulf) back in the day.

Re: It's Hot here in Africa! Yup! Arkansas National Guard, Third deployment, this one is kind of a joke. Not anything like my last two, but this seems to be an interesting location for a lot of interesting things, military wise. Not bad, we get to drink 2* beer a day, and wear civilian clothes everywhere. More like a TDY trip than a deployment.

Re: It's Hot here in Africa! Well deployments like that are the "Good" ones. I once had a "deployment" that was 12 weeks in Hawaii, and I got a rental car paid for by them. A nasty red and black Mustang 5.0 convertible. Work from 6am-3pm 5 days a week. I was mistreated

Oh Hell, Challenging an Old sailor to a drinking Contest! Too old for that now a days, shit, it takes me all night to do the things I used to do all night!!  But when you get back come on to Caddo Lake and I build a fire and we can drink a few and stare at the flames. And bring the boat, bet we can find some logs to jump.

Re: It's Hot here in Africa! Cypress, yeah this one isn't nothing, we get "2" beers a day here, lets just say I may or may not drink 3-5 times that on a regular basis. And yeah once I get back I will have 6 years left on the active side, I am AGR back in the states so I'm active duty just with the guard. Ill be 39 when im eligible for retirement, with 23 total years in the guard, if that makes since? I hope to pick up E8 before getting out, made E7 at 27yrs old 5 years ago.
Brandon, you can definitely come up to the house and try it! I got an extra bed or two! Be getting back right at the beginning of duck season.
