|
throttle cable question
how are yall hooking up the cable to the linkage? I got a bicycle brake lever for the throttle, but not sure how to hook the cable on the engine side. thanks

not sure. what I can say is it was blue (before I camo'd it) and it is a 13hp. got it on a trade. here is a thread I made that might help.. I think its a duromax??? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=70894

Hook one end to the inside slot on the lever, run the other end to the stock carb linkage . Get all your slack out so lever is idle at natural place. Make sure you add a spring to back of linkage, enough to snap your lever back to nuteral as you let off.

Gotcha, well hmmm I've seen the lead cylinder types at tractor supply. They have a pre drilled hole with a set screw on the bottom. You have to feed it thru then screw it down to hold cable secure. Probably work for you .

Either get the cable end like huck spoke of, or get out your soldering gun and make it. Bend the cable with pliers to fit the carb linkage, then use solder to stiffen the bends and end and thicken it just a bit.

alright,, thanks yall. Ill look for those things with the set screw AND solder it in. I tend to go overboard.
