Re: Hunt deck add on
Most of the retro hunt decks I have seen over the years are made out of the existing transom. They cut down the sides and brace everything together. The length wouldn’t change as it’s not being “added”.
Here’s my take on it - unless you can weld aluminum and have all of the fab tools to do it it’s probably not worth it. Paying someone to do it right would cost a ton of money in labor, and even a pretty good fabricator could jack it up. As bluesky said, you would probably be better off selling what you got and throwing the proceeds at a new Hull that has a factory huntdeck. A 15ft triton doesn’t sound optimal for a 45 anyways.

What they said...you can convert using your existing hull length and transom by cutting the sides out....but, I wouldn't expect much from a crimped factory hull.

Re: Hunt deck add on
I've seen a hunt deck added to a regular hull. and the motor was mounted to the added hunt deck, and it made some sweet gains, but everything has to be done PERFECTLY to work well. Its almost not worth it, cause if you fukk it up, you will spend more money than its worth and you wont have a boat that's worth a shit.

Re: Hunt deck add on
Thank you all for the advice. Seems every one is in agreement leave as is till I get a new boat with Hunt deck built from the beginning.

Re: Hunt deck add on
I had a 1548 SeaArk riveted hull I ran a 35 MB Hyperdrive on. Ran really well lite and fast. To balance the boat I moved the rear bench seat 16" forward and mounted the battery in the middle bench seat. Ran the tank in the bow. Did the same thing on my current 1648 rig. Running a moded MB 45 on it. You should see some really good speeds with that set up.
