Re: Question?
4900 won't hurt a thing with a properly built/balanced bottom end.

Re: Question?
I've been told different from local builders, but I suppose experiences from different builds reflect the views of certain people. Maybe you are right and maybe not. I know from a car perspective, when we ran a 470ci big block camaro at WOT on the weekends at the track, we had to rebuild everything ever 50-75 passes, which was typical for these high HP engines. Whether this applies to mud motors or not, I don't know, but I know that I don't want to rebuild anything unless I'm doing this for performance reasons. Hopefully if you get yours built, you can run it as hot as you want with no issues. I plan on getting a stage 3 on mine when the warranty is out and hope to get that type of confidence and dependability out of mine when the time comes.

Re: Question?
Very interesting stuff. I can't wait to get mine staged up later on down the road. Need to save this extra money first lol

Re: Question?
I'll stick to running in the 4200/4300 range. Running against the rev limiter most of the time with a briggs block is asking for trouble and I don't care who built it the engine or how they built it.

Re: Question?
Why even participate in these discussions? Most of us have experienced or witnessed Marcus and Will go out of their way to help people that have never spent a dime with them. We've also done business with people that actually stand by their work, and trust those gents to do that as well. Just because you don't doesn't mean there aren't decent people doing business. Dont get work done by them, dont climb out of your box to see that there is some new work being done on these engines that actually doesn't hurt reliability like it used to. But also dont come here with your crap that doesn't reflect the fact that some of these guys know more than you about how to build these things CORRECTLY to make them last. Experience matters, and yours is lacking, apparently. Not everyone that does business shits on their customers.

Re: Question?
My comments are not geared towards Marcus or anyone in particular but more the reliability of modded motors or lack there of. I’m undaunted by your suggestions. I’ll do as I please and you do the same.

Re: Question?
Suppose I build a motor with billet rods for reliability keep CR LOW, use a small cam, Do porting like major manufacturers do (clean up ports), and the Stock Carb. Will that be detrimental to the health of the engine?
