1754 Gator Trax with hunt deck--short transom

I know it's a little aggravation, but I want to run an outboard in the off-season. Do I need a transom bracket fabbed up to be able to mount a short shaft outboard? I will have a kick up plate and maybe a micro jack plate for running stumps and shallow water. Trying to minimize cost, but selling my rig in order to get what I want isn't out of the question. Anybody running this setup? Thanks.
