Reverse Lock cable replacement on a remote steer setup.
I'm not sure that I need to replace the cable to the reverse lock mechanism? Can someone let me know if there is a mandated requirement for this reverse lock. I use my mud motor more like a typical outboard. if outboards aren't locked down it only will rise in the water if you feed it to fast. I appreciate any input. Thanks.

Nothing mandated by law that I'm aware of. It's nice to have on a prodrive for fpr. Most gatortails and mudbuddys have a handle for leverage or just shove by hand on the cowling. I think prodrive has a handle on the more recent models, but dont know for sure.

Thanks Ross, Mine is on a 4400 Boss. If nothing by law is mandated, I'm going to try it without the cable repair. When it warms up a little. I wish all to be OK for your area.
