If you are not vaccinated by now you're just plain stupid, and I don't care who you are. You may be my friend or a relative but now I don't care anymore. I'm going to call it like it is. I'm hoping it's mostly negligence which I can forgive, but not anything else. Only 28% of you are vaccinated in Louisiana in the hot spot parishes.

I was exposed two weeks ago in close quarters. She tested positive two days later along with her boyfriend. And a day later, her mother and father tested positive. She was asymptomatic when we were exposed. He is in the hospital. She also exposed two others who were with me. One with a liver transplant who cannot take the vaccine because of the immune suppressants he takes. He tested positive and is in trouble. The other recently had heart surgery but was vaccinated. He's fine. I'm vaccinated and am fine. This is real and not a political thing to play around with. It is literally life or death for some and thanks to you, the variants will keep learning new tricks.

So who will admit they are not vaccinated? Huck, LTchaser, WChauvin?

I am vaccinated but it doesn’t mean anything. I know someone who died from covid and they were vaccinated. Several hospital workers that works with a family member of mine are out with covid and they are vaccinated.

Strange disease - Delta variant seems to spread easier yet it also seems less deadly overall....

Hard to know which strain each infected person might get ! ! !

Texas spread numbers are high yet deaths are lower than traffic fatalities at 3 to 5 each day....

When New Cases reported was this high in Texas in February there were 30 to 50 deaths each day....

Of the 8000 deaths in Texas since February 2021 - all but 43 were unvaccinated - over 95% of deaths
were from people who had chosen not to get the vaccine since Feb 2021 in Texas....

We got the Covid in 2020 but in January 2021 got the Pfizer shots - just in case natural immunity was
short term or not enough protection - may get a third one if the trials in Israel prove to show it helps
to get a third shot a year later.... Personal choice for me - cause I'm taking care of my parents
and my inlaws who are in their 80s....



Stay strong - if you get the vaccine or not - use good old common sense and hang in there ! ! !

of COIVD-19 spread.

All participants of indoor meetings and events are required to be masked.

People with underlying health conditions that make them more likely to have severe COVID complications should avoid nonessential
trips outside of the home.

Event hosts and facilities should practice strong sanitation and hygiene practices and provide hand sanitizer for those who need it.

Spaces should be staged to accommodate at least six feet of distance between guests.

Immigrant rights activists in Louisiana have decried the chaotic way that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is releasing detained migrants throughout the state. Organizers with Voces Unidas: Louisiana Immigrants Rights Coalition have called the handling of the releases “inhumane,” and have stated that “ICE is dropping them off in the middle of nowhere with no support.”

Already overworked advocates like those with Voces Unidas are scrambling to deal with the crisis situation caused by the federal agency. Their efforts are nothing short of heroic.

An instance in Baton Rouge has been covered by local media. On July 16, an ICE representative called up the Society of St. Vincent de Paul—without any prior notice—informing them that 60 immigrants were being sent to their shelter. These individuals were dropped off at the Greyhound bus station without any supplies.

St. Vincent de Paul President Michael Acaldo told WAFB Channel 9, “Our shelter at that time had all filled up.” The society’s volunteers nevertheless gave the released detainees supply bags. Fortunately, volunteers with Louisiana Advocates for Immigrants in Detention were able to provide shelter. The organization also filed a civil rights complaint against ICE.

Similar scenarios have played out across the state, including in rural areas with far fewer resources than Baton Rouge. Even mayors and congresspeople have complained, alleging that they are not being given notice.

Dangers of COVID-19

According to ICE data, only about 20 percent of detainees passing through its facilities across the country had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of the beginning of July. This is at a time when the number of people crowded into facilities (including children, as in the tent compound at Fort Bliss, Texas) has swelled to 26,000, all during Joe Biden’s tenure. During that period of increase, ICE reported over 7,500 new coronavirus cases in custody.

ICE is putting all these people in danger by releasing them without support during the current virus surge, dominated by the highly transmissible Delta variant. Released migrants are in danger of homelessness. They may end up in crowded shelters and other places where social distancing is impossible.

It’s also plausible that released detainees could face further criminalization, should they be picked up for vagrancy. We must demand that ICE provide all detainees with vaccine access and coordinate their release with safety as the top priority.

Louisiana: a detention epicenter

Currently, more migrants are detained in Louisiana than in any other state besides Texas.

While most agree that the war in Afghanistan has gone on too long. Biden’s goal to disengage from Afghanistan was a
