 Aluminum gas tank dimensions I just got a custom boat built and I decided after the fact that I want to put a big tank. Cause I'm tired of having to switch between 2 6 gal tanks i want one 12. But the plastic 12 gal won't fit under my deck I only got 11 inches of clerance what I'm getting at is I found a formula online you type in length x width x height and it gives you how manny gallons. So to check it I put in measurements for a 12 gal plastic tank and it says the plastic should hold like 20 gal I gota be missing something

divide that by 231 that will give u the gallons it's close i figured mine to be 16 gallons at the pump it was 15.7 gallons to the top.

Re: Aluminum gas tank dimensions I painted mine and left a little window around mine so I could see the fuel level. I would not advise using it as a seat, they do flex a good bit.
