 Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
Has anybody ever had the clutch on a ProDrive click loud and disengage while running and not re-engage after that?

Re: Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
I told this person to check the wiring. I dont remember if there is a fuse in line or not so I told them to check. I was asked to not mention who called from the swamp with this problem LOL I do know they have a paddle

Re: Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
We were approx. 17 miles away from landing.. We just started to frog.. Had about 20 when I stated to my dad, lets go in another pond. I never been in this one, and with the fog I dont want to get turned around.. THEN... As soon as we hit deep water.. CLANK !!! Clutch didnt work anymore.. I tested the switch to see if it was still working, and it was. I think the noice I heard may of been somthing sheering off in the clutch itself. Not sure.. Thanks to coon and brad for answering at 10+pm...
O.. one other thing.. If you were in a mudboat around Turtle Bayou last night, I hope you get very sick.. Not sick enough to die, but sick enough to realize that you shouldnt just passed on the side of me !!!
Me and My dad paddled 3 miles up current: then, some hoopnet fishermen pulled us to landing..I return, I had him follow me to the gas station, and I filled his 24 gallon tank up.. I also gave him one of my World Famous Catfish Stunners.(No, mine is not in a skoal can. It is in a Electric Tape case)

Yeah that is pretty shitty how they didn't even stop to ask if ya'll were alright...But that was pretty good what you did for that guy, I've seen ppl get pulled all the way from shell Island to the berwick landing, and give that person a simple thank you...

Re: Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
A friend of mine and his padna went fishing already and the prop mysteriously came off of his outboard. No paddle in da boat.. Dey had to jump out and swim da boat back to da launch fa two hours!!! at least u r smart enough to keep a paddle in da boat unlike dem yonks

Re: Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
food for thought.
when the clutch goes out, it's usually the bearing seizing up and u will know it cuz it will make noise and get hot as a firecracker before it melts the wires in two.
if it just quits working it's usually either a bad ground or a wire has come off the switch.
if ur battery goes dead it will turn loose as well.

Re: Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
Where is the clutch ground wire? I assume it grounds to the frame/block somewhere instead of running to the switch or battery.

grounded right next to the starter on one of the case bolts. Atleast it was on mine.

Re: Clutch Disengageing on Pro Drive
Mine was grounded behind the engine. If you look from the back, you will see two wires that ground to the framing.
