 Pro Drive prop removal I need to replace the lower unit seal nut on my Pro Drive. In reading the owners manual, it says to use a prop wrench. This looks like a piece of 2 or 3" aluminum flat strap with a hole in one end.
I don't have one of these. Is there a quick easy substitute for the wrench? Could I not just buy a piece of aluminum and drill a hole in it?

Re: Pro Drive prop removal I a also trying to figure out, you remove the prop nut, why do you need a wrench to remove the prop. It isn't threaded onto the prop shaft is it?

Re: Pro Drive prop removal no bushing is not threaded. it's tapered and should most of the time come off with the prop then just take a pliers and squeeze it a little and it comes out. make sure to put marine grade anti sieze on everything prop shaft and bushing when you put it back together.

Re: Pro Drive prop removal A week BEFORE prop removal, spray some quality penetrant oil at front and back of prop. It will save a lot of cussing.
I always used a 2x4 with hole drilled in it.
Most auto stores have marine grade anti-seize . Or just eBay it a week ahead of time.
Helps to remove prop I ce every year, needed or not.
Gen. 3 lower unit is much better since they dropped thread prop BS.
