Red dot sights for duck hunting

Not sure if the sight had anything to do with it or if he was just a complete idiot.

People will buy anything, especially with good marketing behind it. These manufacturers thrive on that fact, knowing their product is inferior. You AIM a rifle - you POINT a shotgun. They know that as well. I filed my sights off completely - don't need them. You're supposed to be looking at the target, not the sights. It all starts with gun fit - once your stock-well is adjusted properly, and you mount consistently, every time you pull the gun up, you'll automatically be aiming where you're looking. My thoughts are if you need a sight for wing shooting you probably don't need to be shooting flying objects.
