 Replacing a GoDevil shaft
I have a 2000 kohler decided to replace the shaft. Ive taken the prop off and the nut assembly off unscrewed the set bolts on the lower yoke. Now how do i get the upper and lower housing assemblies off to install the new top bearing and replace the bushings and do i just beat the shit out of the prop till the shaft starts the move and then take the shaft key out. Pictures or videos would be helpful because i cant find anything useful on the internet.

 Re: Replacing a GoDevil shaft
That would be about right. Hit the backside of the prop and the shaft will eventually work its way out of the yoke. Might want to try to put a flat head screwdriver in the slot of the yoke to loosen it up some.
The new shaft goes in the same way, beat it.

a slide hammer is the correct application for this.

Please download the service manual from the Godevil website. http://www.godevil.com/documents/Go-Dev ... Manual.pdf

 Re: Replacing a GoDevil shaft
Make sure to replace upper an lower seals, I did this an only replaced lower and it wouldn't keep grease for no longer than 5 minutes in the autoluber.
