31 longtail getting back to speed.
I have a 31 gd longtail on a 18x60 aluminum hull.
When I bought the boat, it was running 19 with 2 guys. Four years later and the most I can get is 18 by myself. I put a K&N filter on it and added the BPS exhaust and picked up 200rpms and got back around 19-19.5.
Last month I had to replace the carb and the BPS muffler got a couple bad cracks and I went back to the stock muffler and donaldson air cleaner. This knocked my unloaded speed down to 17.6.
This week I got the muffler back and put the K&N back on. Now I'm back to normal.
Hopefully I'm going to get some carb work done and maybe pick up another 1-2mph.

Nice rig man. Who built that hull? Almost looks like an airboat hull.

hey bbb, do you have any problems with water coming over your transome with it being cut down like that?

Re: 31 longtail getting back to speed.
No problems at all. The picture is kinda deceptive because of how tall the transom is. Your looking at a overall 24" tall transom, 16" at the notch.
