 GDSD on Gatortail hull?
Anyone running a Go Devil surface drive on a Gatortail hull? I'm looking at putting my 35 GDSD on a 1654 or 1848 Gatortail hull, but am not sure if transom angle and all that crap will work correctly. Did some searching on here and didn't come across it anywhere. Also, how hard to cut down a tall transom to short transom to match my motor? I'm thinking it wouldn't be too bad. Thanks guys.

The design of the GDSD - will work with ANY transom angle - however NOT any transom height - so you will need a motor conversion or transom re-build if the boat is a tall transom model...

 Re: GDSD on Gatortail hull?
So any idea what the cost is for the motor conversion? I'd guess it would be cheaper to cut down the transom but I'm not sure if I'll be able to maintain the necessary strength when rebuilding at the lower height. Anyone done this with a gatortail hull?

 Re: GDSD on Gatortail hull?
Shipping to my door will run about $1485. Shipping to nearest dealer (4 hours from me) will run $1250 and they currently don't have any orders in for us to split costs. That's at $1.25/mile as quoted by GT. I'd have to see what uship.com comes up with. But I think a used boat in the area would be the way to go if I can make it work. Otherwise, the Godevil dealer is 30 miles away. I just wanted a wide open boat with no pods and seats, etc. and thought the Gatortail boats looked best for me.
I'd still like to know if anyone has actually put a Godevil motor on a Gatortail boat too.

http://phowlerboatcompany.com/or http://www.larrysillowamarine.com/boats.htmPhowler makes a fine hull -- USCG floatation too... Built a bit further north too - might cost less to ship....
