Post NorthWest Louisiana - Lake Bistineau - Sibley, La
Just wanted to let anybody who's interested know that Lake Bistineau has some really good mud and flats to ride if your lookin for a good ride. They have let the lake down to the main channel to get all the salvania out of it and it's made some really good areas to ride. Send me a pm if your interested and don't know the lake and I can point out some spots.

Here you can see how low the water is. This is my boat sittin behind my mom's house in Brushy Creek.

Here is my brother when we were headed up the creek.

Oh yeah. Had the boat in 3 inches of water loaded down with 3 guys (190lb a piece), 11gallons of gas, 100lb generator, all our gear and lights and the boat was movin with out a problem. Sand and mud mix.

Shot some dinky gar. I let my brothers do all the shootin.

I took a ride on the south end. Not much to see there but it looks interesting up on that end. We need to go look around sometime.

I'll be leaving for Florida this next week for vacation so I won't be around. And I know the La mud run is comin up after that. But you should definitely go ride it. Go south of the port too, I can send you a map with a couple spots to check.

Shadow, what launch did you put in at? Went and looked around the other day and couldn't find one that was in the water. Moved over here a couple months ago and I'd like to go take a look at it.

Port of Bistineau is the only place you can launch from what I hear.

I'm gonna PM you a map.

But from sibley, take 371 South for approx 4 miles. Turn right on yellow pine rd. Stay on the road till it comes to an end at the port of bistineau. 3$ to launch.

There or the east side of the dam. Don't run along side the bridge. With the water that low you will hit all that concrete and rebar that came off when they built he new one. I was gonna say that when they dropped the water last time you couldn't get a boat anywhere close to the park let alone launch or get near the cabins.

You can probably walk to the water though. Everything that's been out of water a while is dry enough to walk on.
