Hey guy i need some help i have been trying to do all my own research on this but coming up short i want to buy this 5.5 mud motor for my 12 foot duck boat i only hunt really one lake that is lilly pads and roots i know i am not going to go fast but with two guys and a little gear and am i going to be able to go through any mud at all?? there is a lot of floating bogs that are just made up of mud and lilly roots will i just get stuck and be not happy with this small of a motor I am new to the mud motor i only most of the time hunt flooded fields any help will be great thanks !!
for a small boat size weight etc r u looking for a longtail or a shallow drive unit there are many longtails out there mudbuddy go devil beavertail and for shallow drive for that size boat there is the copperhead 6.5 or 208cc all these will work

Yes you will be very okay doing that we have 5 and 6.5 hp long tails we built on our homemade poke boats for going threw deep timber and it sure beats walking any day. We have put me 210 pounds my dad 280 pounds and his buddy 220pounds at 8 mph threw deeper water and still has the power to get us threw the shallower stuff easy
