 Tiny Tach
I did a search but there is nothing specific about what I am trying to find out. So I bought one today. The "Gas" Version. Well, I installed it according to the directions, cranked the motor up, hit the throttle and had a Max RPM of 5000. This little motor is supposed to have max RPM of 3600. It also says it's idle is 2300. These numbers sound high. Don't they? The model I have is the one where you change the settings for spark. Could this be set wrong? Doesn't a gas engine have a spark every other rev? 1 for combustion 1 for ingnition. That means it would be set on 720 not 360 right? I'm stumped.

 Re: Tiny Tach
Intake, compression, combustion (power), exhaust. Single cylinder fires every other revolution. V-twin fires every revolution opposite cylinder each time. As for the setting, I'm not sure.

 Re: Tiny Tach
Woops said the wrong thing. Should it be set at 180 instead of 360?
Maybe it's right, but 5k rpms sounds a bit high.
Thanks for the help Kibb

 Re: Tiny Tach
doubt if that is right. think there is a setting for number of cylinders and you probably need to adjust that...

 Re: Tiny Tach
Still having issues with this tiny tach. If I set it up to read the idle RPMs right, which are 1000-1100 RPM, at WoT out of the water, I only get 2300-2400 RPMs. MAx for this 6.5 is 3850+/-150 RPM. According to this page, it is to be set at 720, but then the RPM at idle is 2400ish. Right now I have is set at 180 and the idle speed is right, but this setup is for 2 sparks per revolution. Doesn't make any sense. http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/pdf/TT ... ctions.pdf

 Re: Tiny Tach
OK, talked with the Tiny Tach tech and he said add more wraps and I did. Here is what I have. What do I have wrong?
