Post Greasing go-devils
Hi dudes!!!

They say that after every use you should give each grease zerk one shot of grease. Well this is my first mud motor and boat, for duck hunting and this thing kicks ass!! It's a 9hp long tail, and I want to last! I mean I'm bad enough I whipe it down after every use as well! My question is..... That one shot of grease just slings everywhere when I start it up next??? My problem is it slings the new grease, I don't see the dirty crap slinging. What do all you long time mud motor guys out there do or think about this????

Once every two months i just hit it with grease until i see new grease come out and the old stuff pushed out as well and then i just fill it after each run and have not had any problems yet.

On the longtail - only grease the U-joints a tad every 20 or 30 hours - but
don't be shy about the main shaft - if it is coming out that fast you may
consider replacing the bushings / seals - but on my old 20 year old GDLT
we put 3 or 4 pumps in before every trip to the blind and never replaced
them.... The shaft would "chatter" a bit when it wanted more grease on
those longer runs - so we kept grease in the boat...

Sadly hurricane Ike took her not old age....
