Post balance?
Im new to mud motors. Purchased a used 16 Vanguard mud buddy a couple weeks ago. Im still dialing in the motor and learning what to do and not to do with a long tail.

I noticed that my motor is un balanced when not under power? THe weight is engine heavy to the point that it leans into the boat? SHould the tail end not be heavier?

it outta be balanced, they make it that way so it is easy to lift the prop out the water,so the prop outta stay in the water we running it, even wen its not running it should still stay down. is there any mods to the frame that couldve effected the balance?

Im not sure what year the mud buddy is? Or if a differnt engine has been placed on the frame? It is a 16hp vanguard. nothing looks like it has been modified on the frame?

Sitting on the trailer. tail out the back. The motor will fall down into the boat? I can tilt it down to the ground (water) and it will stay there if the water is deep. but it is engine heavy for sure. is that normal?

tighten the nuts that hold the pivot shaft in place, just enough to where it is not hard to pick up and down. I was told that by Coco from GD

Thanks guys. I got a good tip from mud buddys web site videos. PLace a loop at each end of the cable to prevent water from running into the cable. I did that. I also used a oil made for nail guns that has a antifreeze in it. Not sure how much got down into the cable? Im going to look for the gadget as metioned above.
