As is with all forums. Last question alumacraft boats 1 piece welded made in the 1980's what grade aluminum was used? would they be heavier than newer models? Are they tougher than newer models?

I would guess .080 or .100 aluminum. A lot of newer models have bracing running lengthways in the boat instead of horizontal which helps to prevent hooks, also a lot have .125 aluminum. If you can get the hull id off the boat, you can call the manufacture and check to see how thick the hull is... A lot of time's it is stamped right next to the hull id xxxxxxx080, xxxxxxxx100, or xxxxxxx125, etc...
